HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

Since an early age, Joshua has always had big dreams. At the age of five, he wanted to play first base for the Boston Red Sox. At age nine, he wanted to be a meteorologist. He already knew what college he wanted to go to and that he wanted to major in culinary arts when he was 11 years old. Seven years later, that's exactly where he went and what he majored in, even though he eventually switched majors. Now at 24, he has a new dream, and that dream starts by writing a book; he's on a mission to help change the world.

ABOUT

Joshua was born Ashley Nicole Bogle on June 3, 1992. It wasn't until 21 years later that he started going by 'Josh.' After months of contemplation in late 2013, he came to the conclusion that he was transgender. His story is different from many other trans narratives as the common notion is all transgender people know who they are from a very young age. Although this is true to some extent, it's not always that black and white.

Joshua knew he wasn't like the other kids as early as second grade. At the time he was an eight year old tomboy. He had lots of friends in elementary school, and aside from dressing more masculine than the 'other' girls, it went pretty well. When Joshua got to middle school, things started getting complicated and confusing. It was a time where hormones were running rampant and puberty was changing his body in ways that he was not comfortable with at all. It was a the first time he thought to himself he should have been born a boy, but being a middle school student during 2003-2006, he didn't have the same kind of access to information that middle school students have today, (the internet was still primarily dial-up then.) Because of this, he spent the next 10 years struggling to figure out why he was so different.

Today, Joshua is quite involved in the political world. In late 2015 into early 2016, he was an intern for 2016 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. After losing the nomination to Hillary Clinton, Josh went on to work as field canvasser for Rights and Democracy (RAD,) a bi-state progressive organization that works towards advancing progressive legislation in Vermont and New Hampshire. With the work RAD accomplished during the general election season, Governor Maggie Hassan narrowly ousted incumbent, and staunch conservative, Kelly Ayotte. Someday (even as soon as 2018) Joshua places to run for state representative in NH.

Joshua graduated Cum Laude earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Southern New Hampshire University in the spring of 2014. He has a love for learning and hopes to go back to school soon to earn a Master's degree. His current plans include finding a duel program the combines political science and history. With his political ambitions, he realized that this was the best option for him.

When Joshua isn't working or writing his book, he creates transition update videos, and occasionally more educational type videos, for his YouTube channel. In May of 2015, after submitting an audition video, he was selected to be a member of the Beefheads Fitness channel, a fitness channel targeted to transgender men, where he primarily talked about nutrition; more specifically eating healthy on a budget as he has dealt with a lot of financial struggles in the past few years. Unfortunately the channel no longer exists, but it was a great experience for him. He also plays co-ed softball in the summer and spends a lot of his time listening to music which sometimes helps him manage his depression and anxiety symptoms.

Joshua hopes to become a successful author, speaker, and political/transgender activist like many of his role models before him. He believes that this is his life's ultimate purpose; to educate and help change the world.

Joshua lives in New Hampshire with his wife, Paige and two cats, Fenway (pictured) and Skye, who are named after Fenway Park in Boston and what used to be Skydome (now Rogers Centre) in Toronto; the only two MLB parks he has visited, (so far!)
